Streszczenia
The aim of this article is to analyse mentoring in relation to employee work engagement and their relationships with the superior. The article presents the findings of authors' own study carried out in 2017. Based on the obtained research results, it may be concluded that mentoring focused on the goal of personal and professional development has greater influence over work engagement than mentoring focused on onboarding. Furthermore, research indicates that regardless of whether mentoring is formalized or non-formalized and irrespective of the goal of mentoring, contact with the superior is easy and employees have a possibility to address the superior seeking assistance with equal frequency. It was also concluded that the largest group of employees who had a chance to use the knowledge and experience of other employees in an organization were participants in developmental and onboarding mentoring
